PPS offers a wide range of support and service for research. On this page you can find an overview of our areas of expertise.
PPS focuses on the production and purification of (mainly) recombinant protein reagents for all Swedish researchers. PPS uses six different expression systems which allows the production of many types of proteins. Researchers can access the PPS infrastructure via a common entry-point and obtain individualized support based on their research needs throughout the whole process of protein production and purification. This can include all steps from project counselling and initial design to final quality control, or any single/multiple step(s) of the process as depicted in Figure 1.
PPS also features two expertise and development heavy Gateway modules in to support users of large-scale infrastructures which allow preparation of reagents and/or provide expertise for the subsequent performance of experiments: (Per)deuteration for neutron scattering, but also NMR applications and the module Molecular chaperones featuring the concept of Affinity Probe-Enabled Structural Analysis to enable structural analysis by X-ray crystallography, but also Cryo-EM.
